WWDC 2011: iCloud Communications Sues Apple Over iCloud Service !!

            Apple's new cloud based service, iCloud, which was previewed and released to developers in beta at WWDC 2011 has managed to get the Cupertinos sued.

 iCloud Communications, an Arizona based company, has filed a lawsuit against Apple, claiming that the company has copied its iCloud branding and trademark.

Basically, iCloud Communications claims that Apple's hardcore marketing and use of the iCloud brand is affecting the company negatively, since Apple's marketing is obviously going to generate more ROI, the iCloud brand will then only be publicly affiliated more with Apple, and not iCloud Communications which has been active since 2005.

iCloud Communications is a C equipment provider, but in court documents, it also claims to be a cloud computing company which offers services similar to what Apple is offering under iCloud.

Released in beta as of now, iCloud will be shipped alongside iOS 5 for general public later this year in fall.

iCloud Communications demands in the lawsuit that all of Apple's iCloud promotional material be destroyed and that they are stopped from using the iCloud brand.

They have also asked for monetary compensation and the invoking of the iCloud trademark that Apple purchased.

It is yet to be seen as to what Apple has to say in return to this lawsuit, however, an out of court settlement is likely to happen in this case.
